Overview of the Stadium

Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Visakhapatnam (India). It was established in 2003 and it is owned by Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh. The stadium at present can hold 38,000 people at a time.

It organised its first ODI match against Pakistan in which Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored his maiden one-day international century (148) in 2005. Being given Test status, it hosted its first test match in November 2016, between India and England( India won the match by 246 runs). Later, it hosted its first T20I in February 2016 between India and Sri Lanka.

The ACA-VDCA arena is known for its rich green outfield and is very well-maintained. The grass for the outfield was uniquely imported from the Caribbean. What’s more, the arena has a decent water drainage system. Day/night cricket matches can also be held because the stadium has floodlight offices.

  • The return of Indian Skipper – Virat Kohli will surely make India a tougher and able opponent. He is returning after a rest from Ind vs Nz series.
  • Australian Skipper – Aaron Finch will be looking forward to know about India’s preparations for the World Cup.
  • Glenn Maxwell being an experienced player will have a great responsibility
  • Indian spinner Chahal and returning pacers – Bumrah and Umesh will try to bring the match in favour for India.
